BYD introduces its new full-size luxury electric SUV, marking a bold foray into the high-end electric car market. While the Chinese automaker continues to expand its presence around the world, this new SUV aims to demonstrate BYD's commitment to innovation, premium design and sustainability and appeal to a growing audience of luxury electric car enthusiasts.
BYD is preparing to launch a new full-fledged electric SUV
Byd is best known for super affordable electric cars like the bestselling Seagull, but the company is rapidly entering a new segment.
BYD plans to launch a new full-size flagship electric SUV later this year under its luxury brand Denza.
According to Zhao Changjiang, Denza Sales Manager, Denza N9 is based on BYD's new e-platform 3.0. It is a plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrain option that will be launched in China later this year.
BYD's e3 technology powers electric SUVs. With 3 electric motors, the system produces almost 1,000 horsepower, allowing independent steering with 2 motors at the rear.

BYD's Denza brand launched the Z9GT last month, the first vehicle based on the 3.0 platform. The Denza Z9GT starts at $47,400 (RMB 334,800) as a potential Porsche Panorama competitor.
"Denza N9 is a technical super gentleman," Zhao said. Last month, Denza's head of sales said the flagship model will be an SUV where competition can not compete within 5 years.
After selling a record 419,426 cars last month, BYD overtook SAIC to become China's largest car group. Denza accounted for 9 percent of BYD's total sales of 10,299 units in 2024, with more than 90,000 units sold so far. The luxury brand is currently selling n7, N8 and N9 electric Suvs, with the new MPV and several electric sedans in the pipeline.
Denza N9 is the latest model that byd is expanding into new markets such as pickup trucks, luxury Suvs and electric supercars.

Entering the luxury market
BYD has already established itself as a dominant force in the global electric vehicle market, producing affordable and practical electric vehicles for the mass market, but in luxury SUVs, the company is entering a new terrain. While specific details about the vehicle are still under wraps, the teaser hints at sophisticated design, cutting–edge technology and high performance - all of the luxury electric vehicles are still under wraps.
Luxury SUVs may compete with established players such as Tesla, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW, which have a strong presence in the premium electric SUV market.BYD's entry into this sector will expand its appeal and offer a diverse portfolio, ranging from low-cost electric vehicles to high-end models with numerous features for demanding consumers. It reflects the company's desire to create a better future for the company.
State-of-the-art technology and design
BYD is known for its battery technology and this luxury SUV is expected to benefit from the company's latest advances. The SUV is powered by BYD's state-of-the-art blade battery, which is probably known for its excellent safety, durability and range. This can give the vehicle an impressive range that is comparable to, or surpasses, other luxury electric vehicles on the market and can be used without frequent charging.
conclusion
