With a free home charger and installation from Ford when buying the electric car of your choice, customers can easily switch to an electric car. In this article, we will explore the benefits of this offer to help drivers recharge their cars from the comfort of their home and improve the overall experience of owning an electric car.

Ford CEO Jim Farley announced on LinkedIn that the automaker will install a free home charger for buyers who buy or lease the Mustang Mach-E, F-150Lightning, or E-Transit.

Farley says the Level 2 free home charger can come with the vehicle or be delivered when the buyer is ready. Ford will make sure that the charger is installed free of charge by professionals for buyers.

The free installation of the charger must be considered a "standard installation," which, according to Ford, means it will run on a residential compartment with its own electricity meter, circuits and wiring up to 60 amps, which only needs to be up to 80 feet long.

Recently, Farley made a long car trip with an electric car through the western United States and Europe. The realization, Farley says, is that consumers are looking for "convenience, safety and competent service".

Farley said Ford's findings on home charging are important for overall adoption of electric vehicles in the U.S., and that nearly 90 percent of shoppers know they can charge at home, where, who and at what prices are confusing consumers. According to Farley, this latest incentive eliminates guesswork in charging situations at home.

Ford was the first automaker to address non-Tesla public charging infrastructure issues through a partnership with Tesla. In 2023, Tesla CEO Farley and Elon Musk announced that the Tesla supercharger will be opened for Ford. Farley also agreed that Ford would take over Tesla's NACS charging connections with future electric vehicles.

In 2024, Ford will start offering free Ccs-TO-NACS adapters to owners of the F-150Lightning and Mustang Mach-E, and Tesla has opened a network of superchargers to owners of Ford electric vehicles.

conclusion

Ford's offering of free home charging and installation simplifies the transition to electric vehicles by providing a convenient and cost-effective home charging solution. The initiative will not only make electric vehicle ownership more accessible, but also help customers save on installation costs and further promote the introduction of electric mobility.
