The battery-powered 3-door car of the famous British brand, belonging to the BMW group, is distinguished by an elegant design and a more robust powertrain compared to its less sporty sibling, which is already available on the market.

While the company hasn't released a full spec sheet yet, MINI is touting this as its first all-electric high-performance electric vehicle, with 261hp or 190kW (that's 20 more than the standard model) of power and 350Nm of torque, from 0 to 100km/h in less than 6 seconds and a top speed of 125mph Powered by a 54.2 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 230 miles on a single charge.

The new electric car also comes with a racing-inspired chassis and an electric boost feature for additional power, as well as the Mini Conse which has been talking for some time, which means getting an increased accelerator sensitivity paired with a "harder steering feel" and a "more sporty sound", as the MINI explains. It's a good idea. The design also makes the boxy car more aerodynamic and adds some red, white and black color accents to it for a sporty feel.

In addition to the new electric John Cooper Works model, MINI has also introduced the JCWAceman, which offers similar performance capabilities with a slightly slower 0-60mph acceleration of 6.4 seconds and a range of up to 220 miles. But that brings with it additional passenger and cargo space.

Prices have yet to be announced as production of both models will move from China to Oxford, England, in 2026. Last year, BMW announced plans to invest around $750 million in the Oxford factory of its Mini sub-brand. After sales start in the UK, there is a good chance the models will also reach the US.

Charging and practicality

Charging Mini Electric is simple and versatile and supports fast charging for both AC and DC. With DC fast charging, the car can charge up to 80% of the battery in just 35 minutes, making it convenient for city residents who need fast charging during city errands. At home, charging overnight through a standard wall box is convenient to wake up in the morning with a fully charged vehicle.

Mini's commitment to Sustainability

The introduction of mini electricity represents an important step in achieving the broader sustainability goals of mini. By 2030, MINI wants to be an all-electric brand with MINI Electric as the flagship model driving this transition. The company, which is focused on reducing emissions, is in line with global environmental targets and offers consumers stylish and environmentally friendly alternatives for everyday driving.

conclusion

MINI Electric successfully combines the unique design of the brand, a comfortable driving experience and modern electrical engineering. Mini is taking its first step into the future of electric, but Mini Electric is a strong competitor for urban drivers looking for environmentally friendly cars without sacrificing style, performance or the joy of mini driving.
