Mazda officially opened an order form for the new Mazda EZ-6EV andERV versions in China yesterday. And the starting price? It is under under 25,000$.


The EZ-6, jointly developed by Mazda and Chinese state-run Changan Automobile, was one of two new electric vehicles launched in May. The other was a CX-5/0 size crossover called Arata, but the EZ-6 seemed close to production, with a sales date promised later this year.

Design and modern features


Mazda has always been known for its commitment to design, and the EZ-6EV is no exception. It features a sleek and compact design with a modern aesthetic, making it a stylish choice for urban riders. The car will be equipped with a minimalist and user-friendly interface, including a digital dashboard and a touchscreen infotainment system compatible with apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Value for money Despite the low price, the base version of the latest Mazda features leather seating surfaces, and higher trim versions combine leather and suede (Alcantara?). There's also a 14-speaker Sony audio system, 64-color ambient lighting, "zero-gravity" front seats, meaning the seats can recline to a near-flat position, and a panoramic glass roof. The BEV model is said to be equipped with a single electric drive motor with an output of 190 kW (approximately 254 hp) and is available with either a 56.1 or 68.8 kWh battery pack, giving a CLTC range of 480 km corresponds to 600 km (approx. 370 miles). The top speed for both models is an electronically limited 170 km/h (105 mph).

Battery range is approximately 80 miles, with a “maximum total range” stated at 1301 km (approximately 808 miles).
